What is walk and talk therapy?
Walk and talk therapy is what it says. These counselling sessions take place outdoors. Walking side by side can be much less intimidating than being face to face in a more traditional therapy setting. It is counselling in motion and is particularly useful for those clients that might feel stuck in therapy or are suffering with depression. Being physically active can stimulate new thoughts and ideas; spending time outdoors amongst the trees and fresh air is proven to be of great therapeutic benefit.
If you are a parent who struggles to find childcare in order to have counselling - you are welcome to bring your baby in a buggy as we walk and talk.
What I normally suggest is to have an initial session at my practice for us to meet as I do with all new clients (this is to ascertain if you would like to work with me and for me to find out more about what you are wanting to bring and gain from the sessions). After this we can then agree on a nearby park in Ealing to meet and for the session to take place.
Walk and talk counselling sessions take place daytimes only and are 50 minutes long. Please enquire if this type of therapy is of interest to you.
